Growing Baby's prenatal breastfeeding classes are instructed by a Certified Lactation Educator. Growing Baby’s prenatal breastfeeding class will provide you and your partner with an introduction to the basics of breastfeeding. We will provide you with the knowledge you need to have a successful start and to feel positive and confident about breastfeeding.

* Payment for prenatal classes are due at least 1 week before the class. Your name will be put on the list when you register, but payment will reserve your spot. Please see contact and registration section for payment options.

In Growing Baby's prenatal breastfeeding class:
* Learn the anatomy of the breast to better understand how your body works to produce milk
* Learn about the benefits of breastfeeding for your baby as well as you and your partner
* Learn about early, active and late hunger cues that your baby will give you when they are hungry
* Try different breastfeeding positions with our dolls to give you a better understanding of how the baby latches onto the breast and what the signs of a correct and incorrect latch are
* Learn about milk intake, your baby's output and ensuring that your baby is getting enough
* Learn how to pump and hand express breastmilk and the different kinds of breast pumps that are available and where to find them
* Learn the correct way to store your breastmilk for later use, where to freeze, for how long and how to properly thaw it
* Learn about breastfeeding clinics throughout the GTA and surrounding areas, where to get help if a concern arises and about breastfeeding support groups and information
